Functional Esthetics opened its doors in 1988 in Creve Coeur, Missouri with three people: Doug, his wife Muffy and their first employee, Tom.

We have four full time technicians; Tom who is still with us after 20 years is our metal finisher.

Along with Tom we have Kevin who is our waxer and has been with us for 12 years. Kim and Heidi have goals to be with us as the latter two.

Everyone starts in the plaster room were Doug monitors their abilities along with their attention to detail. The plaster room begins the process of making a quality product. All of our employees are taught by Doug.

We have two drivers: one for the St. Louis, St. Charles, St. Peters, Ellisville and South County area and the other for Southeast Missouri and into Illinois.

Our turn around is eight days starting with the day of pick-up. We also offer UPS delivery, where turn around is usually ten working days after arrival.

FEDL has been structured by Doug to run with a minimal number of technicians to keep focus on the product they have at hand. This alleviates any missed communication when products go from one technician to another, as in large labs. We achieve 20 to 30 units of the highest quality restorations a day. Because of this efficiency, Doug has been called on by other laboratory owners and dentists to restructure their offices.

In 2002 we moved our office to Farmington, Missouri.  A few years earlier we bought a farm near by and fell in love with the area.

So now, we are celebrating our 20-year anniversary and are very proud to say that most of our dental customers have been with us for that duration, or close to it. That, in itself, speaks volumes!
